Watts Mechanical was founded in September of 1981 in Calgary by Robert Watts as a commercial mechanical contracting company.

We are a Mechanical Contractor in the areas of Industrial, Commercial, Contract and Service and some Residential. We do bid spec, and design build as required for any size of project, and can also provide value engineering due to the vast experience of our diverse team. To date we have completed over 4,000 projects since 1981.

We carry Five Million dollars in liability insurance and our safety program is COR Certified. We employ an independent company to monitor our COR program so that it is maintained to the strictest details. We hold monthly meetings and continually train our field employees in the newest safety standards and re-certifications. All of our field employees are certified in first aid, fall restraint and complete hazard assessments continually on every site.

We directly employ plumbers involving water, storm, and sanitary work, as well as gas and hydronics (boilers, chemicals and piping). Our main sub trades consist of sheet metal, sprinklers, controls, and mechanical insulation. Other areas include: x-ray & coring, excavation, backfill, electrical, concrete, and other areas as required.

As a mechanical contractor we provide the following services:

Hot water heating
Gas
Sheet Metal
Air Conditioning
Controls
Fire protection
Medical gas
and most other applications pertaining to any Mechanical system in a structure.

Scope of some of our Recent Projects:

Commercial:
Watts Mechanical has been involved in many different commercial level projects, this is the core of our business. We have done thousands of office tower renovations and mall renovations including nearly 100 stores in each of the construction of the Eaton's Centre in 1990 and the complete retrofit of Market Mall in 1988.

We have been doing extensive tenant renovations in the downtown core with over 200 in the Alberta Stock Exchange tower. The downtown core has been one of our main areas since the beginning.

Over time we have ventured into all aspects of commercial work including new construction. We have completed several new high end car washes for Co-op. We have also recently completed a state of the art fully solar powered washroom at Lake Minnewanka in the Banff National Park. We have also completed many specialty projects such as dental offices, day surgery clinics, and radiology clinics.

Presently, we are in construction on a 4 story tower for Crown Properties International in SE Calgary. Other major projects include a RONA store in Symons Valley with Graham Construction.

Industrial:
Watts Mechanical has been involved in industrial projects for some time now. Projects have included building warehouses, building boiler systems or retrofitting existing systems, and process piping.

Contract & Service:
Watts Mechanical can be brought in to help the owner or board of directors for a condo develop a plan that will optimize their building to operate at it’s most efficient state and to maintain it. Whether it is commercial or residential; the building is your investment and preventative maintenance will guarantee SIGNIFICANT cost savings in the long run. We can arrange to have all of the mechanical systems monitored and maintained including Roof Top Units (RTU), boilers, Make Up Air (MUA), hot water tanks, controls systems, and then some. Some of our current service contracts at present are with Dollar Giants in Southern Alberta, and the Calgary Flames Pengrowth Saddledome.

Residential:
We have done several very exclusive homes in Calgary and area (Springbank, Bearspaw) using state of the art technology that focuses on efficiency, safety and ingenuity.
